Our bi-annual vintage clothing market featuring 30 unique vendors is held in the parking lot adjacent to Rumors (4211 Chamberlain Ave Des Moines, Iowa) Each booth offers its own unique curation of vintage clothing, accessories, jewelry and decor. Whether you’re looking to stock up on t-shirts from $5-$10 buckets or searching for that one rare, quality item that fits you to a T, Heartland Bazaar is always a fun shopping experience. Eras represented range from early 1900’s- early 2000’s.
Enjoy local food and beverages at the North end of the lot, and soak in the selected-for-the-season music played on vintage vinyl from a clear and warm vintage hi-fi system, provided by our guys at Rogue Planet Music.
In addition to clothing, find vintage decor, jewelry, accessories, antiques, and handmade items. You really never know what treasures you’ll walk away with!
Each booth has it’s own check-out. The typical forms of payment accepted are cash, card, or Venmo, but may vary booth to booth.
There are two available fitting rooms inside the shop to try things on- please be prepared to return items to the vendors you borrowed them from. Find staff in the Rumors booth for any questions. There are usually a couple of vendors with pop-up fitting rooms in their booths as well. Please limit items you’re trying on to 4 at a time maximum in order to keep the lines moving.

We have one restroom in the back of the shop, or find the porta-potty outside in the NE area of the lot. Street parking and nearby parking lots both free.
Admission is free. All are welcome, including dogs.

Directions- From i235, take the 42nd St exit and go north past Hubbell Elementary, we’re on your left. Trust us, you’ll see signs!

This is an outdoor event. Tents are highly recommended, and if you have sand or weights of some kind to tie your tent down, you’ll be in good shape.
Heartland Bazaar is an ALL clothing vintage market. But, if you are a vendor who sells vintage home goods or decor in addition to clothing, you will still be considered. We also accept accessories and jewelry (things that are worn). Handmade clothing vendors will also be considered.
Load in begins at 8am. The market starts promptly at 10am and goes till 6pm.
We provide coffee and water free to vendors, and have a food vendor set up for lunch.

Vendors are responsible for all tents, tables, racks, chairs etc. they will need for their booth. Wifi doesn’t work in the lot, cellular data is needed to process card payments.
If you have a partner or friend to help out with bathroom or food breaks, that is great! If you do not, Allison or Rumors staff would be happy to step in for you.

Shopping Bag
Comfy shoes (wear slip ons and bring a pair of socks if you’ll be shopping for shoes or boots!)
Wear a dress/skirt, or bike shorts to make trying on pants/shorts quick and easy- no waiting for the fitting room!
Fitted tank, bralette or plain t-shirt- again, easy try ons!
Sunscreen
Fanny pack- make keeping track of your phone, keys, money, etc safe and easy to access
Charged phone- you’ll need it for photos, calling your friends, and making payments if you use Venmo.
Friends- You need someone to help you decide which items are cutest on you (:
Cash! Cash makes transactions very quick and easy and the vendors love you for it.
